Paint Til You Faint

I have a secret to tell you.

I’m a hoarder. Apparently (insert eye roll emoji here).

When something isn’t perfect – a chip or a ding or a nick in the pottery that makes it not-quite-ready to be sold, I can’t just throw it away. So, I do what any crafter does – I put it away for “later” and know that it’s there, waiting for me.

What I’m confessing here is this: we have a LOT of imperfectly perfect pottery. Boxes and boxes of it. Or pottery that we only had one of and the supplier quit carrying or we just didn’t have the room for anymore or LOTS of other reasons that I have a LOT of pottery. It’s plates and platters and bowls and figurines and who knows what. And it’s time for us to pull it from the storage unit and let y’all paint it and get it on out of here.

PAINT TIL YOU FAINT NIGHT! That’s the solution. On Saturday September 7, from 6:30-11, you’ll get to paint as much as you want (read the rules in a bit to see how it works). $49 per person. Space for 20. BYOB if you are 21 and older. Snacks are allowed, as well. Let’s turn the music up and have some fun!

THE RULES:

Here’s how it works: When you arrive that night, you’ll draw a number. When it’s your turn, you get to pick your first item. There is so much good stuff – really. SO MUCH GOOD STUFF. Then, when you have finished your item and turn it into the DIYC staff member, you can pick your next item. Finish that one, pick your next item. Do this until 11, when I will declare myself exhausted and have to go home. You won’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.

So, you can work on one thing at a time. Everyone attending must have a ticket. Everything must be finished that night. If you want to use pottery glazes, there is a $1 per item fee. If something cracks in the kiln, I’ll total up your haul, figure out what percentage of your $49 fee was the cracked item, and you’ll get store credit for it.

Pretty simple, and lots of amazing things for you to get. I’ll bring the pottery from storage (y’all there is SO MUCH in there that I’m sort of terrified Not Gonna Lie) the week before. We’ll have it ready to bring out at 6. Get there between 6-6:30 to get your number, and at 6:30 we’ll start the painting.

DIY Club members – make sure you tell me because y’all will be picking from the front of the line numbers.
